The Walking Dead New Episodes Starting Feb 10th 9/8c on AMC

The Walking Dead has been one of my favorite shows as of late.  The writing and character development is great and each episode leaves you hanging and in anticipation of what will happen next. A bunch of action and gore doesn’t hurt either. I got into the show late but caught up through the first 2 seasons quickly. So quickly actually that I had to wonder if the 6 hours worth of episodes of season 1 and the thirteen hours of season 2 may have been a little too much of zombie gore to cram my head with in less than  a month’s time. I couldn’t help it though. The show is that good.  Also  Netflix and other streaming services make it easy to rip through entire seasons of your favorite shows commercial free. At 8 bucks a month and with a month free trial for Netflix you can’t beat it. I have gotten to a point where I no longer like wathching shows on regular cable. Many people I talk to have ditched cable or direct TV because of the low cost of all of the new streaming services such as Netflix, Google play, and Amazon Prime. The only problem is that the brand new airings of shows like The Walking Dead are only available through a cable or satelite provider or sometimes through streaming or downloads online. Season 3 of The Walking Dead is currently available for pre-order on Amazon.com.  The Walking Dead show follows the characters and story line that originally appeared in the Walking Dead graphic novels by Robert Kirkman.  These books are worth a read for the good writing and great art work.  Much like Frank Miller’s Sin City and Alan Moore’s The Watchmen, The Walking Dead has shown that popular graphic novel comics convert well to the movie and television screen.  If you haven’t gotten into this show yet shoot over to Netflix to give it a shot and catch up.  For those that are already hooked by the story, the characters, and of course the zombie smashing, enjoy the new episodes!
