The Keurig company was founded in 1990 by Peter Dragone and Jon Sylvan in Reading Massachusetts.  The company has focused on the idea that the consistency and quality of coffee is better controlled if brewed one cup at a time. This article on keurig reviews takes a look at the growth and branding of the keurig company as well as many of their individual products.

Keurig launched it’s first single cup coffee brewer in 1998. The first machine called the B2000 was marketed and sold for use in commercial office spaces. By 2003 The B2000 was in over 40,000 offices throughout America.

Keurig also introduced it’s now famous K-Cup system. K-Cups package one single serving of ground coffee, tea, or other hot beverage in a small plastic filtered container. The top of the container is sealed with foil. Both the top and bottom of the K-Cup are pierced by the Keurig single cup brewing machine to make a single beverage.

The first Keurig home brewer, the B100 was introduced in 2004. In 2006 the company was purchased by Green Mountain Coffee Roasters for $160 million. The keurig single cup brewing machines have quickly become a household name.

From 2009 to 2010 2.3 million coffee brewing machines were shipped and 2.5 billion K-Cups were sold. Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks and others have all started selling their ground coffee packaged in K-Cups. In 2013 Sales are easily projected to reach 3 billion K-Cups for the year.

Just about everyone I know owns a Keurig in their home, their office or both.  The popularity of Keurig machines has also sparked an entire line of products that are compatible with the coffee makers.

Manufacturers have created coffee cups that fit the specific size of the Keurig Machines. Many of my friends and family have K-Cup racks in their kitchens. Keurig has also made the My K-Cup, a wire mesh filter that fits into the Keurig brewing machine allowing consumers to use their own ground coffee instead of K-cups. As more and more products are released it is useful to have some Keurig Reviews.
